| Private Beaches |
| Mar del Plata is made up of public, semi-private and private beaches. Semi-private and private beaches can be paid daily, weekly, monthly or for the whole of the summer season. The cost of a private beach for three months last season (Dec 07) was about 500 pounds and this was for the best private beaches. Private beaches include tents, chairs, sunbeds, umbrellas, some have their own swimming pools on the beach, solariums, saunas, sports i.e. football, volleyball, basketball, climbing equipment for children, kids games, aerobic classes, dance classes, massages and car parking. Each beach has its own restaurants, cafes, bars and beach service i.e. they will bring the food to your tent, umbrella, anywhere on the beach. You will also find many shops all along the beaches. The private and semi-private beaches also have excellent and very clean toilets and showers with hairdryers. Even so, the public facilities for everybody are very good. Semi-private beaches costs about £4 per day in December and about £8 per day in January and February. Private beaches cost about £10 per day. By pre-paying weekly, monthly or three monthly, it is much cheaper. What is the difference between private and semi-private beaches? Semi-private beaches have a private section on the beach, but the actual sea front is open to the public. Private beaches are totally private. Only paid customers can use the beaches and the sea front. Public beaches also have umbrellas and chairs that can be hired on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. In the high season, it is not possible to see the sand on the public beaches. It is the most incredible sight, as you will see from the photos below. |
